I have to tell you about the experience I had the other day – I was shopping and wanted to buy a 3.5″ HDD. When I was in the store I was reaching for the box and it tipped off the shelf and hit my head – I ended up in hospital. The doctors tried to tell me that it was all an accident and that the HHD’s are all perfectly safe. But I did some research and I have found a number of people who have had to the same problem – the authorities don’t want you to know about hence they are covering up the danger.
From what I have found on the other web – this is common – IT people are getting hurt – so here is the advice that I have for you – if you have data you need – don’t use the drives – that’s what the man wants you to do – instead – print it out on recycled paper using refilled tomer cartridges in the printer. That way it cant be traced you know!
I asked the guy at the store if he could guarantee that if any type of drive fell on my head that it would not hurt – and he said he could not give me that guarantee – so know you know – be safe out there
